Just north of Swift Current, there’s stunning footage of the water level at Lake Diefenbaker in and around Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park. This is in addition to the extremely dry weather in Saskatchewan’s southwestern corner. And from what I understand the late arrival of the water runoff from the mountains, Together they have a large number of people concerned! But don’t be alarmed! Locals have stated this is actually quite normal.
In 1968, the South Saskatchewan River was dammed to create Lake Diefenbaker. Three Saskatchewan provincial parks surround it, which is approximately 2km wide and over 100km long. And so because the lake is controlled by a dam, the size of the beach changes according to the levels of water.
