The cause of a Canada Day house fire in North Battleford remains under investigation.
The North Battleford Fire Department was called to a home located on the 1500 block of 105 Street around 10 p.m.
Deputy Chief Paul Perry said firefighters were there shortly after dispatch received the call.
He added a neighbour reported the fire, after seeing smoke coming from the building. No one was inside the home at the time.
Eight firefighters along with the fire chief helped put out the blaze.
“They battled the fire until 10 minutes after 8 a.m. on July 2nd,” noted Perry.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, and the cause is still being determined.
Perry explained the fire was mainly in the lower part of the structure.
“The fire was mostly involved in the basement area, but it may have migrated throughout the house at a lesser extent.”
