Last weekend was a big one for the Battlefords RCMP’s Gang Task Force as they recovered a major supply of drugs following two separate search warrants – both on Sunday, March 24.
The warrants involved both an apartment building and a home in North Battleford and officers uncovered roughly 28,000 illegal cigarettes, 1700 grams of methamphetamine, ammunition, five guns, and other drug trafficking items.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old woman and 47-year-old man are each charged with numerous offences.
The RCMP release have listed charges the woman is facing as one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, five counts, careless storage of a firearm, one count, possession of a firearm with tampered serial number and six counts, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
The man meanwhile has been charged with one count, carry a concealed weapon, one count, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and one count, obstruct a peace officer.
Both are scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on May 27, 2024.
